How to Uninstall Affinity Publisher 2 on Mac

Before removing Affinity Publisher 2, save the editable publication and its linked image or font resources. A PDF export does not replace the source file or linked assets. The recorded test used a direct download, not a Homebrew installation.

Remove the app and inspect its data

Quit Affinity Publisher 2 and move its app from Applications to Trash. Review the app-named support folder for presets and leave the data group shared with other Affinity apps in place. The cask names the app support folder and preferences. Linked resources stay at their original paths; verify they open with the saved publication. Vendor guidance.

After quitting, copy wanted local state from the paths below to an independent private backup outside the removal folders and verify it. In Finder, press Shift + Command + G to open each path or its parent, then move only existing unneeded app-specific items to the Trash. Keep shared parents and other apps' files:

    • ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Publisher 2
    • ~/Library/Caches/com.seriflabs.affinitypublisher2
    • ~/Library/HTTPStorages/com.seriflabs.affinitypublisher2
    • ~/Library/Preferences/com.seriflabs.affinitypublisher2.plist
    • ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.seriflabs.affinitypublisher2.savedState
    • ~/Library/WebKit/com.seriflabs.affinitypublisher2

Retain the shared ~/Library/Group Containers/6LVTQB9699.com.seriflabs while any installed Affinity sibling still needs it; do not remove the Serif parent or another product’s data.

    Check the result

    ls -ld ~/Library/'Application Support'/'Affinity Publisher 2' ~/Library/Preferences/com.seriflabs.affinitypublisher2.plist

Run this read-only check after quitting the app. A printed path still exists; “No such file or directory” means that path is absent, while a permission error needs its own investigation.

If you installed it with Homebrew

The Homebrew cask has a zap list that includes Application Support/Affinity Publisher 2, cache, HTTP storage and preferences, not other Serif products. Run the command below without --zap if you want to keep those files and inspect them separately. A manual --zap follows the whole cask list regardless of Mole’s checkboxes. Mole skips --zap when its list reaches unchecked or shared data, or a removal scope it cannot verify; selected remnants still follow Mole's own removal flow.

    brew uninstall --cask affinity-publisher

    What Mole lists

With Remove data and settings with apps off, the display-name support review row starts unchecked; with it on, an eligible existing own unshared row may start checked. Copy wanted presets and personal assets to an independent backup before deletion and uncheck the folder if it should remain. Exact bundle-ID cache and preferences are normally selected. The installed Affinity siblings keep their shared Serif group.

    What this test covered

Affinity Publisher 2.6.5 from the official package was removed on September 20, 2026. The Serif group remained. No publication, linked resource or account was used in the test.

If Mac apps leave files behind after uninstalling, try Mole. I've personally tested and inspected 799 Mac apps.
