    Uninstall Feishu on Mac

Check recent messages and documents in Feishu on the web or another device. Save important downloaded attachments separately and open them. Keep unsent drafts and local-only content, then leave meetings and quit Feishu. Your messages and documents stay in your Feishu account; uninstalling does not delete the account. These steps cover the Feishu desktop client for mainland China from feishu.cn and the feishu Homebrew cask. Lark, the international app, is a separate product and should not be removed along with Feishu.

Quit Feishu and remove the app

Quit Feishu from its menu, then move Feishu from Applications to the Trash. Closing the window does not quit it. Feishu help: download and install the client

    Where Feishu keeps its files

Feishu's bundle id is com.electron.lark. The October 3, 2026 side-by-side check identified LarkShell as Feishu's data directory and LarkInternational as the international Lark app's directory. Leave Lark's directory and cache alone when removing Feishu. Before removing Feishu's local data, save drafts and wanted attachments outside these folders and verify the copies. Open each exact path with Shift + Command + G in Finder.

Location What it holds Keep or remove
~/Library/Application Support/LarkShell Support data: settings and local state, not only cache Remove only after checking needed synced content and backing up wanted local state.
    ~/Library/Caches/LarkShell Caches Safe to remove.
    ~/Library/Caches/com.electron.lark Cache Safe to remove.

If a downloaded attachment is missing later, check the local folder where you saved it; clearing a cache will not recover it.

    Check the result

    pgrep -il 'feishu|lark'
    ls -d ~/Library/Application\ Support/LarkShell ~/Library/Application\ Support/LarkInternational
brew list --cask | grep -i feishu

If pgrep completes without errors and prints nothing, no process name matched feishu|lark; separately named helpers are outside this check. If Lark is installed and running, its matching processes are not Feishu leftovers. For ls, No such file or directory means that exact folder is absent; a listed path still exists, and a permission error leaves the check unresolved. The last pipeline finds a matching cask record only if brew list --cask succeeds; a missing brew command or another error does not prove the record is gone.

If you installed it with Homebrew

The feishu cask's zap list covers only caches, a helper's preferences, and saved window state, so it does not touch your support data. The cask installs the app as Feishu.app from a package named Lark.app. In the test, Mole did not recognize it as a Homebrew install, removed it as an ordinary app, and the cask record stayed until brew uninstall --force --zap feishu cleared it. The current cask has no additional ordinary uninstall stanza. To remove the managed app without its zap list, use:

    brew uninstall --cask feishu

A direct brew uninstall --cask --zap feishu applies its zap list regardless of Mole’s checkboxes. Current cask

If both Feishu and Lark are installed

Locate Feishu and Lark separately in Applications before choosing which one to remove. Their names are similar but their bundle IDs differ: Lark is com.larksuite.larkApp. Mole lists LarkShell for Feishu and LarkInternational for Lark. With Remove data and settings with apps off, each support directory is unchecked; enabling it can preselect eligible app-owned data. Removing Feishu must leave Lark's app, support directory and cache intact.

    What Mole lists

    Location In the plan
~/Library/Application Support/LarkShell Unchecked with Remove data and settings with apps off; enabling it can preselect eligible app-owned data.
    ~/Library/Caches/LarkShell Selected by default.
Library items named com.electron.lark (caches, preferences, saved state, and the com.electron.lark.font_workaround folder in Application Support) Selected by default.

    What this test covered

On October 3, 2026, both official apps were installed together and removed separately with a source-built development build of Mole. Feishu’s app, LarkShell support data and cache, and its reviewed bundle-id paths were moved to the Trash. While Feishu was removed, Lark stayed installed and running with LarkInternational and its cache intact. The later Lark removal handled those Lark-owned paths. The overall first-launch file scan was partial, so this verifies the checked app paths and sibling boundary, not every possible leftover or signed-in data recovery.

Feishu was installed from the Homebrew cask on September 18, 2026, alongside Lark, and uninstalled through Mole. About 1.75 GB went, 1.64 GB of it the app. ~/Library/Caches/LarkShell was removed; the unselected LarkShell (22 MB) and LarkInternational (26 MB) support folders stayed. Lark's own uninstall did not claim Feishu's folders. Signed-in chat history and meetings were not tested.

If Mac apps leave files behind after uninstalling, try Mole. I've personally tested and inspected 799 Mac apps.
