How to Uninstall 幕布 on Mac

Open the web version and confirm the latest outline edits are there before removing 幕布. Export important documents individually if you need independent copies; the vendor says bulk export is unavailable. The recorded test used a direct download, not a Homebrew installation.

Remove the app and inspect its data

Quit 幕布 and inspect the Mubu support folder in Finder before touching local drafts that may not have synced. The recorded run retained ~/Library/Application Support/Mubu for review. After quitting, copy the entire existing folder to an independent location outside sync and all removal folders, and verify it before deleting local state; if recent edits are missing on the web, keep the original until recovery is confirmed. The display-name 幕布 folder was a separate empty local observation; do not assume it is the only data store.

Confirm recent edits are visible on the web and verify your independent exports or local backup, then move 幕布 from Applications to Trash before deleting unwanted local data. In Finder press Shift + Command + G to open each path or parent, then move existing unwanted Mubu leaves to the Trash after quitting:

    • ~/Library/Application Support/Mubu
    • ~/Library/Application Support/幕布
    • ~/Library/Preferences/com.mubu.desktop.plist
    • ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.mubu.desktop.savedState

Skip missing items. If edits are still absent from the web or the backup is not usable, keep the Mubu folder until you have recovered them; do not infer that the empty Chinese-name folder contains all drafts.

    Check the result

    ls -ld ~/Library/'Application Support'/Mubu ~/Library/'Application Support'/幕布

Run this read-only check after quitting the app. A printed path still exists; “No such file or directory” means that path is absent, while a permission error needs its own investigation.

If you installed it with Homebrew

The Homebrew cask has a zap list that includes Application Support/幕布, preferences and saved state; the Application Support/Mubu folder retained in the recorded test needs separate review. Run the command below without --zap if you want to keep those files and inspect them separately. A manual --zap follows the whole cask list regardless of Mole’s checkboxes. Mole suppresses zap when it reaches unchecked or shared data, or a scope it cannot verify, and still removes selected remnants.

    brew uninstall --cask mubu

    What Mole lists

With Remove data and settings with apps off, Application Support/Mubu and Application Support/幕布 are unticked review rows. With it on, eligible unshared review rows can be preselected; back up wanted drafts and uncheck them to keep them. Bundle-ID cache and preferences can be selected by default, but the switch does not add undiscovered paths.

    What this test covered

The 6.0.1 official package was removed on September 20, 2026. With review items selected, the empty 幕布 support folder was removed; the 1.8 MB Mubu data folder remained for separate review. The test did not sign in or verify sync or exports.

If Mac apps leave files behind after uninstalling, try Mole. I've personally tested and inspected 799 Mac apps.
