How to Uninstall RapidAPI on Mac
RapidAPI Client inherited the Paw bundle identity. Save open project files to an independent location before quitting, then back up wanted local state before removal; do not assume a RapidAPI account contains an unsigned-in Mac project. The recorded test used a direct download, not a Homebrew installation.
Remove the app and inspect its data
Quit RapidAPI Client and move RapidAPI.app from Applications to Trash. Inspect Paw-named local state before choosing to remove it; the old name alone does not make another app its owner. The cask names the historical com.luckymarmot.Paw container and preference. After quitting all RapidAPI and Paw copies, copy the entire confirmed ~/Library/Containers/com.luckymarmot.Paw folder to a private independent backup outside the removal paths and verify it before deleting originals. Keep project files saved elsewhere and preserve this state if a retained Paw copy still uses it. Vendor guidance.
After quitting, copy wanted local state from the paths below to an independent private backup outside the removal folders and verify it. In Finder, press Shift + Command + G to open each path or its parent, then move only existing unneeded app-specific items to the Trash. Keep shared parents and other apps' files:
~/Library/Application Scripts/com.luckymarmot.Paw~/Library/Application Support/com.apple.sharedfilelist/com.apple.LSSharedFileList.ApplicationRecentDocuments/com.luckymarmot.paw.sfl*~/Library/Containers/com.luckymarmot.Paw~/Library/Preferences/com.luckymarmot.Paw.plist~/Library/Saved Application State/com.luckymarmot.Paw.savedState
An asterisk is a filename pattern, not a folder to open literally: open its parent in Finder, inspect actual names, and remove only the matching items belonging to this installation. Keep shared parent folders and retained versions' data.
Check the result
ls -ld ~/Library/Containers/com.luckymarmot.Paw ~/Library/Preferences/com.luckymarmot.Paw.plist
Run this read-only check after quitting the app. A printed path still exists; “No such file or directory” means that path is absent, while a permission error needs its own investigation.
If you installed it with Homebrew
The Homebrew cask has a zap list that includes the historical Paw container, scripts and preferences; its zap also names a recent-documents list. Run the command below without --zap if you want to keep those files and inspect them separately. A manual --zap follows the whole cask list regardless of Mole’s checkboxes. Mole skips --zap when its list reaches unchecked or shared data, or a removal scope it cannot verify; selected remnants still follow Mole's own removal flow.
brew uninstall --cask rapidapi
What Mole lists
Mole can match the verified historical Paw bundle identity; exact container and preference rows are normally selected. It does not infer that every Paw-named file belongs to this installation.
What this test covered
RapidAPI Client 4.5.5 from the official package was removed on September 20, 2026. It was not signed in, and the Paw container hit a Trash permission error. No request project or cloud recovery was tested.
