    Home/Apps tested with Mole

    Uninstall 石墨文档 on Mac

Open important 石墨文档 in the web app and save any local exports before removing the Mac client. The test did not sign in. The September 20, 2026 record covers the app copied from the official package.

    Quit and remove the app

Quit 石墨文档 and move its Mac app to Trash. Do not confuse this document client with the unrelated Shimo VPN product or erase similarly named VPN data. The official page has more product information.

    Review the app’s data

Verify important documents in the web client and open wanted local exports first, preserving unsynced edits separately. Quit the app, copy wanted local state to a separate backup and check it. Press Shift + Command + G in Finder to open each location or its parent, then move only existing unwanted document-client items to the Trash:

    • ~/Library/Application Support/com.shimo.desktop.main
    • ~/Library/Preferences/com.shimo.desktop.main.plist
    • ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.shimo.desktop.main.savedState

Skip missing items. The bundle-ID support folder was observed; an empty Application Support/shimo name match did not establish ownership and was left alone. Keep similarly named Shimo VPN data.

If you installed it with Homebrew

The Homebrew cask has its own --zap list. brew uninstall --cask shimonote removes the cask without that list; brew uninstall --cask --zap shimonote also acts on its listed data without consulting Mole’s checkboxes. Zap lists the exact document-client ID, not a generic Shimo family. Mole also suppresses zap if its list reaches unchecked data, another app’s shared data, or a scope it cannot verify; it still removes the selected remnants.

    brew uninstall --cask shimonote

    Check the result

These commands inspect the running process and one relevant location. They do not remove anything:

    pgrep -il "石墨文档"
    ls -ld "$HOME/Library/Application Support/com.shimo.desktop.main"

No pgrep match means no process with that name is running; a match needs identification before quitting anything. A listed path still exists, while an ls “No such file” error means only that exact path is absent. A permission error is inconclusive.

    What Mole lists

Mole selects the exact com.shimo.desktop.main support row by default when safely owned. With Remove data and settings with apps off, a bare shimo display-name folder listed for review starts unchecked. With it on, only an existing selectable row confirmed to be the document client's own unshared data may start checked; an ambiguous name is not ownership proof. Keep Shimo VPN data and uncheck wanted document-client data.

    What this test covered

On September 20, 2026, the official-package app was removed without signing in. The exact bundle-ID Application Support row was selected; cloud documents and offline editing were not verified.

If Mac apps leave files behind after uninstalling, try Mole. I've personally tested and inspected 799 Mac apps.
