How to Uninstall Soulver 3 on Mac
Copy wanted Soulver 3 sheets before uninstalling; calculations in a local sheet are separate from an account. The app also offers a command-line tool, which may be installed through its cask. The recorded test used a direct download, not a Homebrew installation.
Remove the app and inspect its data
Quit Soulver 3, then move Soulver 3.app from Applications to Trash. Inspect the versioned and unversioned support folders separately before deciding what to keep. The cask zap names Soulver 3, not the separately observed Soulver folder. Both may contain app state; keep wanted sheets before selecting either. Soulver site.
After quitting, copy wanted local state from the paths below to an independent private backup outside the removal folders and verify it. In Finder, press Shift + Command + G to open each path or its parent, then move only existing unneeded app-specific items to the Trash. Keep shared parents and other apps' files:
~/Library/Application Scripts/app.soulver.mac.QuicklookInSpotlight~/Library/Application Support/app.soulver.mac~/Library/Application Support/com.apple.sharedfilelist/com.apple.LSSharedFileList.ApplicationRecentDocuments/app.soulver.mac.sfl*~/Library/Application Support/Soulver 3~/Library/Caches/app.soulver.mac~/Library/Containers/app.soulver.mac.QuicklookInSpotlight~/Library/HTTPStorages/app.soulver.mac.binarycookies~/Library/Preferences/app.soulver.mac.plist~/Library/Saved Application State/app.soulver.mac.savedState~/Library/Application Support/Soulver
A * denotes a filename pattern: open the parent in Finder and select only actual entries belonging to the removed version, keeping shared parents and retained versions.
The cask also names ~/Library/Group Containers/group.app.soulver; the recorded test found a different team-prefixed group, ~/Library/Group Containers/SBA8TXW9N6.group.app.soulver. Do not treat one name as proof of the other. Keep any group used by another installed copy or app, or with uncertain ownership; only independently backed-up, confirmed exclusive data can be reviewed for removal, leaving the Group Containers parent intact.
Check the result
ls -ld ~/Library/'Application Support'/'Soulver 3' ~/Library/'Application Support'/Soulver
Run this read-only check after quitting the app. A printed path still exists; “No such file or directory” means that path is absent, while a permission error needs its own investigation.
If you installed it with Homebrew
The Homebrew cask has a zap list that includes Application Support/Soulver 3, bundle-ID support, cache and preferences, plus the shared App Group; ordinary cask uninstall also removes its managed CLI. Run the command below without --zap if you want to keep those files and inspect them separately. A manual --zap follows the whole cask list regardless of Mole’s checkboxes. Mole skips --zap when its list reaches unchecked or shared data, or a removal scope it cannot verify; selected remnants still follow Mole's own removal flow.
brew uninstall --cask soulver
What Mole lists
With Remove data and settings with apps off, the listed Soulver 3 and Soulver support review rows start unchecked; with it on, eligible existing own unshared rows may start checked. Verify independent copies of wanted sheets and uncheck either folder to keep it. Exact bundle-ID support and caches are normally selected; Soulver App Groups need individual review, and Mole keeps a group when another installed app claims it or ownership cannot be confirmed.
What this test covered
The official Soulver 3.16.3 archive was removed on September 20, 2026. Selecting review rows removed Application Support/Soulver 3; Application Support/Soulver remained for separate review. No account or real sheet was tested.
