    Home/Apps tested with Mole

    Uninstall Tencent Meeting on Mac

Save any local meeting recordings, chat exports, or shared files you want to keep before removing Tencent Meeting (腾讯会议): they live wherever you chose to save them during a meeting, commonly Downloads or Documents, not inside the app's own data. These steps cover the official DMG from Tencent's site and the Homebrew cask tencent-meeting; Mole's tests covered both.

Quit Tencent Meeting and remove the app

Leave or end any meeting, quit Tencent Meeting from its menu, then move TencentMeeting from Applications to the Trash. Removing the app does not end meetings you scheduled or cancel any paid plan tied to your account.

Where Tencent Meeting keeps its data

After quitting, use Finder’s Shift + Command + G to open each complete path below. For entries containing *, open the stated parent folder and identify actual items belonging to this Tencent Meeting installation; the pattern is not a literal Finder path. Copy complete app-owned configuration and wanted state to an independent private backup and inspect the copy, then move only confirmed, unwanted app-owned items individually to Trash. Keep shared groups used by another app or with unclear ownership.

Location What it holds What to do
~/Library/Containers/com.tencent.meeting* The app's sandboxed data: settings and local state Safe to remove with the app
~/Library/Containers/com.tencent.wemeet.FileDelta Incremental update data Safe to remove with the app
~/Library/com.tencent.meeting and ~/Library/com.tencent.meeting.UpdateServer An exact bundle folder sitting directly on the Library root, holding a background process monitor Safe to remove with the app
~/Library/Caches/com.tencent.meeting* Disk cache Safe to remove with the app
~/Library/HTTPStorages/com.tencent.meeting* Per-site storage cache Safe to remove with the app
~/Library/Preferences/com.tencent.meeting*.plist App preferences Safe to remove with the app
~/Library/Saved Application State/com.tencent.meeting.savedState Window state Safe to remove with the app
~/Library/WebKit/com.tencent.meeting Embedded web view data Safe to remove with the app
~/Library/Application Support/com.tencent.meeting and ~/Library/Application Support/com.tencent.meeting.services.wmexternal Support files for the app and its external service, a few KB in the test Safe to remove with the app
~/Library/Application Scripts/com.tencent.meeting and ~/Library/Application Scripts/FN2V63AD2J.com.tencent.meeting Sandboxed helper script folders Safe to remove with the app

Every path above except the two Application Support folders and the Library-root bundle folder (~/Library/com.tencent.meeting and .UpdateServer) comes from the Homebrew Tencent Meeting cask's zap list, which matches what the official DMG writes to the same locations; the Library-root folder is not in that zap list at all, so it survives even if you run the zap step yourself outside Mole, and only Mole's own review can remove it. The zap list also names ~/Library/Group Containers/FN2V63AD2J.com.tencent.meeting; that exact cask-named Meeting group was absent in the recorded installation. It is different from QQ's shared group ~/Library/Group Containers/FN2V63AD2J.com.tencent; if the Meeting group exists on your Mac, check its signed-app ownership and contents rather than classifying it from the Team ID alone.

    Check the result

Run these read-only commands in Terminal:

    pgrep -ilf "TencentMeeting"
    ls -d "$HOME/Library/Containers/com.tencent.meeting"
    ls -d "$HOME/Library/com.tencent.meeting"

No output from pgrep means Tencent Meeting is not running. The first ls shows whether the app's own container is still on this Mac; "No such file or directory" means it is gone. A permission error leaves this Terminal check unresolved; inspect the actual path in Finder before deciding whether the container remains. The second ls shows whether the Library-root bundle folder is still present; a listed path is expected if you kept it.

If you installed it with Homebrew

Mole skips --zap when its list reaches unchecked or shared data, or cannot be fully checked, and still cleans the leftovers you selected.

Running brew uninstall --cask --zap tencent-meeting yourself runs the zap list on its own, regardless of what you ticked in Mole's review list. Homebrew Tencent Meeting cask

To skip the zap list entirely and remove only the app, run:

    brew uninstall --cask tencent-meeting

    Account and subscription

Removing the app does not sign you out of your Tencent Meeting account, does not cancel a paid plan, and does not delete meetings, recordings stored in Tencent's cloud, or your meeting history. Manage those from meeting.tencent.com.

    What Mole lists

The app's Container, its two Application Support folders, caches, preferences, saved window state and WebKit data are selected by default. Mole can also list the external service's cache and HTTP storage (com.tencent.meeting.services.wmexternal), taken from Homebrew's zap list for this app, but leaves those review rows unselected with Remove data and settings with apps off. The Library-root folders ~/Library/com.tencent.meeting and ~/Library/com.tencent.meeting.UpdateServer are reviewed data, unselected while Remove data and settings with apps is off, the default. Enabling it can preselect eligible app-owned review rows; untick data you want to retain. Mole can also list ~/Library/Containers/com.tencent.wemeet.FileDelta, taken from Homebrew's zap list for this app, but leaves that review row unselected with the option off; enabling it can preselect eligible app-owned review rows. Mole’s own review never lists or touches the shared FN2V63AD2J.com.tencent group Tencent's QQ uses either. Running Homebrew’s zap list yourself bypasses Mole’s review.

    What this test covered

The recorded uninstall used the Homebrew cask on September 17, 2026, with a development build of Mole. The app was removed; the Library-root bundle folder stayed on disk, listed but not selected, as the design above intends, and the QQ-owned shared group was confirmed not collected at all. On September 26, 2026, Tencent Meeting 3.46.0 from Tencent's official DMG was installed again and removed with a development build of Mole with every row ticked: the app and 11 listed items went to the Trash, including the 354 MB container and the Library-root folder, and nothing from the list remained. Recordings, chat exports, and signed-in account state were not tested.

If Mac apps leave files behind after uninstalling, try Mole. I've personally tested and inspected 799 Mac apps.
