How to uninstall Eudic on Mac
Eudic (欧路词典) writes a study database to ~/Library/Eudb_en on first run, apart from its ordinary settings, so back that folder up if you want to keep your vocabulary and study history. Quit its LightPeek quick-lookup helper along with the app. This covers the official Mac download, Eudic.app with the bundle id com.eusoft.eudic, and the Homebrew cask eudic.
Quit and remove the app
- Quit Eudic from its menu bar icon, and quit LightPeek too if it is running (bundle id
com.eusoft.eudic.LightPeek). - Open Finder's Applications folder, find Eudic, and move it to the Trash.
Where Eudic keeps its data
After quitting both processes, copy ~/Library/Eudb_en and any wanted local app data to a separate backup and verify the files. In Finder, press Shift + Command + G to open each location or its parent, then move only unwanted Eudic items to the Trash. Keep group data unless you have checked that no other installed app needs it, and leave parent folders intact.

Check the result
pgrep -il "Eudic|LightPeek"
ls -d ~/Library/Eudb_en ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.eusoft.eudic
No output from pgrep means neither Eudic nor LightPeek is running; a listed process means one is still open. For ls -d, a printed path means that folder is still on disk, and ~/Library/Eudb_en staying is expected if you kept your vocabulary; "No such file or directory" means it is gone.
If you installed it with Homebrew
Mole skips --zap when its list reaches unchecked or shared data, or cannot be fully checked, and still cleans the leftovers you selected.
The eudic cask quits both Eudic and LightPeek on uninstall. Its zap list covers ~/Library/Eudb_en, the Application Support, Caches, HTTPStorages, Preferences and WebKit entries for com.eusoft.eudic and LightPeek, the QuickLook container and scripts folder, and group.com.eusoft.eudic in Group Containers, Application Scripts and Preferences. With Remove data and settings with apps off, ~/Library/Eudb_en is unchecked; leaving it unchecked suppresses Mole’s zap. With the setting on, an eligible unshared study-data row can be preselected, so check and uncheck it to keep your vocabulary. Shared group rows still need individual review. Running brew uninstall --cask --zap eudic yourself deletes your vocabulary database whatever you ticked in Mole, so back it up first, or remove only the app:
brew uninstall --cask eudic
What Mole lists
For Eudic, Mole selects the app and the rows named exactly after com.eusoft.eudic, such as its Application Support, Caches and Preferences entries, by default. With Remove data and settings with apps off, ~/Library/Eudb_en is listed for review, unchecked; with it on, the eligible unshared row can be preselected. Back it up and uncheck it if wanted. The team-prefixed group 7L3ARZ2SN3.com.eusoft.eudic and cask-listed group.com.eusoft.eudic data retain individual shared-data review.
What this test covered
On September 20, 2026, the official package was copied into Applications, opened, and removed with a Mole 1.15 Preview (build 280) with Full Disk Access, using default selection. Eudic ships with an empty display name, so Mole's Uninstall list showed it as Eudic and its Status page as 欧路词典. That run did not list ~/Library/Eudb_en, which stayed on disk at 416 KB; the review row was added to Mole after this test. Signing in, vocabulary sync and the Homebrew cask were not tested.
